What we offer

Three ways to engage

Each engagement is sized to the question in front of you — from a careful country study, to a relationship review, to a single written response.

ASEAN Cross-Cultural Engagement

ASEAN Cross-Cultural Engagement

A ten-week preparation for Malaysian firms about to work closely with a specific ASEAN partner country — covering business conventions, hospitality customs, time sensibilities, and the quiet adjustments that tend to matter most.

  • Written grove note covering country-specific practices
  • Discussion guide for senior staff
  • Four working sessions included
  • Countries: Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, Singapore

Counterpart Relationship Review

Counterpart Relationship Review

For firms with an existing ASEAN counterparty — a distributor, joint-venture partner, or long-term supplier — who wish to take measured stock of where things stand. We listen carefully on both sides and offer a written review with considered adjustments.

  • Written review of relationship as currently held
  • Identifies where adjustment is warranted
  • Three working sessions over eight weeks
  • Includes senior counterpart consultation where willing
RM 2,200 Enquire
Grove Note

Grove Note

A short written response to a single cross-cultural question — the wording of a delicate message, the framing of a concession, a point of protocol before a meeting. Roughly 1,500 words, delivered within two weeks, with one follow-up call.

  • ~1,500 words of focused written counsel
  • Delivered within two weeks
  • One follow-up call included
  • Useful before fuller engagement or solo

Why Onyrra Group

What working with us looks like

Written deliverables you can keep

Every engagement produces a written grove note or review — something your team can return to, share with colleagues, and use as a reference across the life of the relationship.

Both sides heard

Where counterparts are willing, we listen on both sides. The review is stronger for it — less a mirror of one firm's assumptions, more an account of where the relationship actually stands.

Country-specific, not generic

ASEAN is not one culture. Each engagement focuses on a particular country and its business context — we do not offer the same note to firms dealing with Vietnamese partners as with Filipino ones.

Measured pace, clear scope

Our engagements have defined timelines — eight or ten weeks — so you know what to expect and when. We do not extend scope without your agreement, and we do not rush where care is needed.

Senior attention throughout

Your engagement is not handed to a junior team after the first meeting. The same senior advisers who sit with you at the start are the ones who write the note and lead the working sessions.

Handled with discretion

The questions firms bring to us are often ones they would not put in a company-wide meeting. We treat what is shared with us — about relationships, negotiations, and counterparts — as private to those who share it.

A quiet invitation

Is there a border question on your desk this month?

A Grove Note might answer it within a fortnight. A fuller engagement might prepare your team for the quarter ahead. Send word — we will read carefully and reply with what we can offer.

Common questions

Questions we are often asked

What kinds of firms do you work with?
Mostly Malaysian companies at a point of growth or deepening in their ASEAN relationships — firms entering a new market, reviewing a partnership that has been running for some years, or preparing a senior team for a significant counterpart engagement. The engagements are sized for managing director and senior-management level attention.
Do we need an existing ASEAN relationship to work with you?
No. Two of our three engagements — the Cross-Cultural Engagement and the Grove Note — are equally useful before a relationship has fully formed. If you are about to meet a prospective partner from Vietnam or Indonesia for the first time, a Grove Note or a full cultural engagement can prepare your team well. The Counterpart Relationship Review, by design, works with an existing relationship.
How does the process begin?
You send word through the contact form or call us directly. We set aside time for an initial conversation — typically 45 minutes — to understand what you are working on and which engagement, if any, fits the moment. There is no charge for this conversation.
How long does a Grove Note take?
A Grove Note is delivered within two weeks of our initial conversation and receipt of the brief. It is roughly 1,500 words — enough to address a single question properly, not so long as to be a burden to read before a meeting. One follow-up call is included if you wish to discuss what has been written.
What is the fee structure?
Fees are fixed for each engagement — RM 920 for a Grove Note, RM 2,200 for a Counterpart Relationship Review, and RM 3,000 for an ASEAN Cross-Cultural Engagement. Invoicing and payment terms are discussed and agreed at the start. There are no variable or success-based fees.
What is handled with confidence between us?
Engagements typically involve commercially sensitive details — negotiating positions, internal views of counterparts, pricing sensitivities. We treat everything shared with us as confidential to those who share it. Engagement agreements include a confidentiality provision as standard.
